Charles & Ruth Simpson have been making award-winning wines at their stunning, southern French winery, since 2002.  In 2012, attracted by the quality of the terroir and the opportunity to become part of what has become one of the most dynamic wine producing regions of the world, they brought their expertise and savoir-faire back to the UK, establishing Simpsons’ Wine Estate in Barham, with an aspiration to create the finest quality English wines.  
 
With 30 hectares of vineyards now established on the iconic chalk terroir of the North Downs and a state-of-the-art winery situated minutes from the vines, the Simpsons saw their first harvest in 2016.  Their very international and quality-focused team, have gained experience all over the world and have come from a very diverse range of work environments.  Their combined expertise and belief in this exciting area is an inspirational formula.  
 
With a strong focus on provenance, sustainability and integrity, Simpsons’ Wine Estate now produces an internationally-acclaimed range of exclusively estate grown still and sparkling wines, including the award-winning Roman Road Chardonnay, Flint Fields Blanc de Noirs and Chalklands Classic Cuvee.  The Estate now also offers a diverse range of vineyard and winery tours and events, which are held in the elegant Glasshouse Tasting Room that boasts the world’s first winery helter-skelter slide!
